Gold Bingara

Gold Bingara

Gold, Bingara history and colonial are key words that go together. And Rodney's Relics has a great book Bingara's Golden Past, published by Bingara's Historical Society, that pulls it all together. Author, the late John Hume, created a must for gold hunters, hobbyists, fossickers and everyone interested in Bingara's colonial past. We sell it on behalf of the Historical Society ($20) but for the next few days it is discounted by 15%. Incidentally, we have reduced all products on Rodney's Relics by 15%. Bob Brown - Geologist said of Bingara's Golden Past

"In what was to become one of the New England regions richest goldfields, prospectors quickly established numerous rich alluvial deposits." Later reef mining commenced, and Bob said, "resulting in some unbelievably rich finds."

I am sure that there are further riches to be found.

Some of the other great mining books of the Historical Society - also discounted as introduction to our new web shop -Rodney's Relics include - Dimond Mining in Bingara and The Glitter of Diamonds

In my book soon to go to the publishers, Bingara, Our Town, our People Vol. 2 I have a chapter on the most gold bearing reef mines in Bingara's history.  They dominated production levels for a few years, and the wealth was mind-blowing!

The current book, Bingara, Our Town, our People, includes a chapter on the Bingara gold fields 1852 - when the gold rush started - in some cases hundreds of people were arriving daily. It is also discounted by 15% on the web shop (click and collect).
